Hannah, Jack and Rosie* never got to say goodbye to their mum.
On the anniversary of their mum’s death, our counsellor encouraged Hannah, Jack and Rosie to make a memory box—to ease the pain of not being able to say goodbye. They filled it with special things—a bottle of her perfume, her earrings, a pebble from a holiday, their favourite book for bedtime stories.
The memory box will never bring their mum back. But after months of trauma counselling, the memory box is helping the siblings because it helps them remember she will always be part of their lives.
Without our specialised therapy, Hannah, Jack and Rosie might always be engulfed in sadness—facing a lifetime of pain, when they’ve gone through so much agony already.
