Tasmania leading the nation in child abuse prevention

National media release for the launch of the "Child Abuse Hurts Us All" Campaign in Hobart on 5/5/04. The campaign, launched today by Deputy Premier, David Llewellyn, with the support of Attorney General, Judy Jackson and Minister for Education, Paula Wriedt has already gained the support of high profile Tasmanians including: David Boon (cricketing legend), Robyn Moore (actor), Melissa Carlton (champion Paralympics swimmer), Naomi Castle (Olympic water polo team captain), Richard Flanagan (author), David Foster (the Axeman) and national celebrity, Jodhi Packer (swimwear designer), Kim and Dave (SEA FM), Ric Patterson (ABC Radio).

New research highlights lack of concern for child abuse in Tasmania

Latest research released today in Hobart revealed that Tasmanians do not rate child abuse as an issue of significant community concern. Only 4% of Tasmanians rated child abuse as an issue of concern – on par with problems with public transport and increasing council rates.
