We look for answers

The research conducted by the Australian Childhood Foundation builds a platform of knowledge about the problem of child abuse to help us find more constructive solutions.

We established the National Research Centre for the Prevention of Child Abuse as a joint initiative with the Department of Social Work at Monash University. It is part of the School of Primary Health Care in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Monash University.

The major goals of the National Research Centre include the generation and dissemination of research findings that help to develop new ways of improving children’s welfare and protection. Together, we attempt to stimulate community wide discussion about child abuse and child protection.

Over the past 5 years, we have received support for major projects such as:

The partnership has also been extremely successful in gaining positive media coverage for its research findings about critical child welfare issues.

The National Research Centre for the Prevention of Child Abuse at Monash University has a number of important projects planned and in need of financial support. Please email us at info@childhood.org.au if you would like to discuss the possibility of supporting our research program.
